UX DNS Agent

My Role

In the DNS Agent project, I led user research, prototyping, and UI design. I helped define the user journey through complex data issues and shaped the conversational flow of the chatbot. We built a working prototype using the OpenAI API and Python. I also contributed to exploring the legal and technical feasibility of the concept, focusing on compliance with GDPR and the NIS2 directive, and collaborated closely with stakeholders to align design choices with industry needs.

The plugin focuses on three core features: Reversed WHOIS, Auto-Corrections, and Issue Alerts powered by AI. The result is a working chatbot prototype that guides users through registration data issues in a conversational interface. We presented the project at the CENTR Jamboree, a European gathering for top-level domain registries and registrars. Where it sparked interest among stakeholders for its potential to improve data quality and compliance in domain management.

Conversational UI

The agent finds company-linked domains, logs each step, and ranks results by certainty. Traceable, transparent, and user-controlled.

Hybrid UI

The DNS Agent continuously compares internal domain data with trusted third-party sources. When discrepancies are found, they are flagged and explained to the user. The user can choose to fix the issue by accepting a suggested correction or not. Once approved, the corrected data is updated in the domain portfolio.

Jamboree 2025

We presented the DNS Agent at CENTR Jamboree 2025 in Lyon. Jamboree is an important annual conference that gathers Europe’s leading TLD registries, registrars, and policy experts.
The event serves as a central forum for shaping the future of domain infrastructure and regulation. Due to interest in our work, we were invited to present the project in an extended session, where we demonstrated the prototype and shared research insights on how AI can support data quality and NIS2 compliance. Several stakeholders expressed interest in the potential of the tool.
